Favorite blooming bulbs
Today we ’re gossip with Malgorzata Galietti .
About 30 years ago I purchased a ‘ Red Lion’amaryllis(Hippeastrum‘Red Lion ’ , Zones 8–10 or as a houseplant ) and sent it to my Grandma Helena , who lived in Krakow , Poland , to assist her survive a especially moth-eaten wintertime . She loved it ! She was herself a gardener and horticulturalist , so the ‘ Red Lion ’ was very much appreciated . Back then , amaryllis bulbswere impossible to chance in Poland . Forward to a gloomy wintertime of 2020 ; I remembered how much happiness and cheerfulness one amaryllis bulb had produced for my nanna , so I got a ‘ Pink Surprise ’ to sprinkle some joy during the pandemic winter blue .
This pink ravisher began the annual oscillation of bloom andwatering . I bring in the toilet out to the garden for summer and put them asleep in former fall with hopes that when they woke up they would gratefully produce peak stems .
My aggregation now includes the beautiful ‘ Magical Touch ’ . . . ,
. . . ‘ Sunshine Nymph ’ . . . ,
. . .the elegant ‘ White Denver ’ . . . ,
. . .the classic pinko ‘ Apple Blossom ’ . . . ,
. . .and , of course of study , ‘ Red Lion ’ , the miscellanea that started it all .
