When the owners of this Pacific Palisades , California , home base wanted to total a small barbecue field to their already existing dining bench , they turned to San Diego - based landscape architect Raymond Hansen , who had designed their garden 25 years earlier and has been working on the property ever since . The couple entertain a steady stream of chaffer children and grandchild , and wanted a top - of - the - line barbecue unit that meshed well with the terrace and complemented the home ’s present-day , silklike design .
