I ’m a fully grown fan of the seedsAll - America Selections ( AAS ) send me to test each time of year . Each twelvemonth the new craw of national and regional victor gets a full physical exercise in my garden .
One of the national vegetable award winners for 2016 has proven to be a real winner in my patio container garden , too . Candyland tomato plant have do exceptionally well , producing cute , currant - size tomato that are perfect for eating by the handful .

Currant - size of it tomato are much smaller than cherry red and grape - sized tomatoes . These little red blasts of sweet flavor grow on 2 - foot tall plants that are well contained with a lightweight tomato cage .
In addition to their sweet flavor , there are three other reason I ’ve enjoyed growing Candyland :
Candyland is an easy - care Lycopersicon esculentum , too . The seed I set off pop up quickly and made hearty transplants . Once embed in medium - sized containers , the tomato plants needed only unconstipated deep watering , plus feeding with a liquid soluble vegetable plant food every two week .

These pint - size of it tomatoes are meant to be run through impertinent or perhaps to simmer into a tomato mess . I think they ’re too pocket-sized for canning or freezing .
PanAmerican Seed Company is the ingenious stock breeder behind Candyland . This Lycopersicon esculentum winner is only one of the lots of winning fruits , veggie and flowers listed onthe AAS website .
