A garden that mixes ornamental and edible elements seamlessly
Today we ’re enjoy Deidre ’s beautiful garden .
Hello from upstate New York , where I ’m mixing herbs and veggies into my flower garden . You ’ll always find freshherbsgrowing on my patio , such as a variety of Basil the Great and oregano , bay laurel , chives , thyme , androsemary . In my side garden I ’m growing lavender , which I utilise to make lucre and iced afternoon tea all season long . There are also raspberries and pink wine growing side by side enjoying the sun . I ’ve also built a fewraised garden bedsfor veggies and more herbs , and it ’s been wonderful walking down the garden paths and realize the bees intemperately at work , along with the butterflies enjoying the bigsunflowers . you may always find me sitting in the garden enjoying nature .
This nice spot to sit around and delight the garden is backed up by a floweringninebark shrub(Physocarpusopulifolius , Zones 3–8 ) .

A monarch butterfly stroke stops for a bite on a dual helianthus ( Helianthusannuus , annual ) .
Black - eyed Susans ( Rudbeckiafulgida , Zones 4–9 ) are the epitome of summer .
A wall of contrasting foliation colors and texture is form from the big bold leafage of ahosta(Hostahybrid , Zone 3–9 ) paired with the narrow , grasslike leafage of a daylily ( Hemerocallishybrid , Zones 4–10 ) next to it , while diverse shrubs and tree mold the backcloth .

No flowers ask here — leaf and stones have created a gross garden scene .
I screw the loom mass of fern on the left side of the way of life . They look like ostrich fern ( Matteucciastruthiopteris , Zones 3–7 ) , which can spread vigorously when happy , a trait used to great effect here .
Pots of herbs are beautiful constellate together here in the garden . Of course , they are wonderfully utile in the kitchen as well .

Raised beds are used mostly here for veggies and herbaceous plant , but some grandiloquent sunflower make a garden that feeds all the horse sense .
A big batch of purple lavender ( Lavandulasp . Zones 5–8 ) heyday twig over into the path . I bet Deidre ’s lavender ice tea leaf is delicious !
It is hard not to lovezinnias(Zinniaelegans , annual ) . They are so easy to grow , so passably in the garden or a vase , and so corking for pollinators .
