Snow, moose, and beautiful flowers!
Today we ’re headed to chili Fairbanks , Alaska , to claver with Susie Zimmerman .
Here are a few shots of my garden . I ’ve been at it for about 40 age ( with a good deal of help from my husband , lovingly refer to as “ the Undergardener ” ) , whose independent line was to ramp up the house .

More other beginnings of the garden — just a fleck of lawn and some prime
This aerial view shows how the house and gardens look now . What a coolheaded sign , and it is unclouded that there is a LOT of gardening go on down there .
Alaskan summertime may be unretentive , but the cool temperature and long Day mean everything grows incredibly luxuriant .
In the fall , beautiful leaveschanging color dominate the garden .
Just a small snow in the winter — still beautiful , though !
But when all that coke melting , a beautiful garden emerges , filled with flowers .
red-hot coloring derive from a canna ( Cannahybrid , Zones 8–11 or as a tender bulb ) and a sinister - eyed Susan ( Rudbeckiahirta , Zones 3–7 ) .
You think deer are bad . Susie has MOOSE ! She has a love - hatred kinship with the frequent moose visitors . They are entertaining but can be quite destructive as well .
Susie direct so many wonderful exposure that we ’ll be back tomorrow with more from this beautiful garden !
