In a Vase on Monday. 3.11.14.
November Sunshine . I am joining in again with Cathy ’s meme atramblinginthegardenwhere the challenge is to satiate a vase with flowers every Monday . On this dark November day , I really wanted to bring some sunshine into the home with some cheery lily-livered efflorescence . The vase is all incorrect but I could n’t see an all lily-white one . The flowers I used areMahonia x media‘Charity ’ . and Winter Jasmine , Jasminum nudiflorum . The minuscule , starry flowers are from the wonderful Michaelmas Daisy , Symphiotrichum‘Monte Cassino ’ . The rosiness are ‘ Iceberg ’ and the fragrant Hybid Musk ‘ Moonlight . The browned seedheads are fromRudbeckia hirta‘Prairie Sun ’ . I also used some seedheads fromStipa gigantea . The foliage is Euonymus fortunei ‘ Emerald ‘ n ’ Gold and I also used a atomizer of the golden variegate laurel , Aucuba japonica‘Variegata ’ .
I thought I would photograph it alfresco too , where the light is natural . Behind it you could just make out the large clump of the Michaelmas Daisy ‘ Monte Cassino ’ which I used in the system . It has been in blossom for age . Why do n’t you go over to Cathy and see what other people have put in a vase on Monday . well still , why do n’t you join in ?

It is a promising and pollyannaish vase for a gloomy day , Chloris ! Every time I see that Mahonia , I want to summate one to my garden . ‘ brotherly love ’ appears a bit improbable but perhaps I can find another , shorter miscellany to add in my front garden field ( if and when it ’s quick to institute ) .
Chloris I love the vase in reality . It gives it a little pink at the bottom . And what an musical arrangement . So many beautiful yellow and white flowers . Variety of size and shape and then the leafage is awing . The variegated Eounymus and touch of gold laurel land it all together . Truly a sight for sore oculus here with little left .
Winter jasmine already Chloris – is n’t the twelvemonth flying ! I love the airy effect of that little bloodless aster and it seems to have such a long inflorescence period which is such a bonus .

Hello Chloris , what a lovely yellow and whitened arrangement – decidedly a cheerful sight . I was so proud of to see the jasmine . I do n’t expect to see it here in Scotland until January but it is , to me , so welcome as the first sign that bound is on it ’s way once more . Thanks for sharing .
