“ And since all this loveliness can not be Heaven , I know in my meat it is June . ” — Abba Woolson
I ’ve been gardening for 40 year , 32 of them in Zone 10 . My organic garden is the best yet this yr , with all the howling rains and a very long wintertime by Southern California standards .

I could n’t garden for several age . But I ’ve been given blessing to keep on healing from a knockout autoimmune response .
So when the weather condition is thoroughgoing , sans Santa Ana wind , and before the bright sunlight damage my eyes more , I pussyfoot out to cursorily garden with goggles over UV polarized sunnies and a UPF hat . I ascertain to accept help from very pricy ally and syndicate to assist me prune , water - lay flagstones or bricks , or toil .
I call this my All Season Garden , and now it ’s a healing garden , as it go on to cure my mortal and eubstance as I meditate and I meander in the garden every early morning even before the sunshine slants in my eyes . The harvest of juicy Valencia , CaraCara , and Mandarin orangeness , the hefty harvest time of Fuyu persimmons ( 18 grocery cup of tea full last fall ) , and the Brobdingnagian sweet pomeloes and heirloom tomatoes have made friends and family so happy .

Last month I started another edible garden , with different Basil , parsleys , eggplant , artichoke , and ball zucchini , with a Provence lavender in the middle border with marigolds and odoriferous madwort .
Monarch on asclepsias ( Asclepias curassavica , Zones 9–11 )
The blush wine ‘ Pierre de Ronsard ’ up the teak arbor meets the Goldflame honeysuckle ( Lonicera×heckrottii‘Goldflame ’ , Zones 5–9 ) on the right .

A honeybee catch some Z’s on the job on this Austin rose , ‘ Princess of Kent ’ .
The English rose ‘ Wollerton Hall ’ mingles with puritanical geranium ‘ Rozanne ’ ( Geranium‘Rozanne ’ , Zones 5–8 ) .
A scream of color is formed by Andean sage(Salvia discolor , Zones 9–11 ) with silvery sticky branches and pendulous purplish black flush that hummingbirds love , hardy blue geranium , banger plant(Cuphea ignea , Zones 8–11)—which may need to go , as its wild garish colors do n’t go with my soft colors — goldflame Aquilegia canadensis up the alloy trellis , and a peach daylily starting to bloom .

‘ Scepter’d Isle ’ Austin grow
An English rose — not sure which one , since I lost the tag .
