Moving these boxful — all 360 of them — down the drop-off is going to be a real challenge .

I ’d enjoy being able-bodied to tell the marvelous work that I ’ve done in the garden this week , but it just ai n’t so . alternatively , I ’ve been incite my office / workshop . ( Well , I did at least manage to set the fava beans this calendar week . The niggling slip ( pictured below ) where I plant them is , in fact , my large bed , so one can better understand the little handkerchiefs of tillable land I ’ve create on the cliff look . )

Anyway , my billet / shop has been in its current location for 10 year now , so the process of backpack everything up is sort of an archeological exercise . I ’ve been pack boxes and clean out the old place for the last month , and except for the computers , I ’m mostly ready . I ’ve reckon 360 boxes and other wrapped stuff , all ready to move . Whew !

Despite all the work I ’ve put into packing box for the move , I managed to find oneself time to plant my fava beans .

The new place is full of charm . It ’s a series of three rooms thread out behind a service department .   I ’d estimate that it was last painted before the second world war , and there ’s a comely amount of fixing up to do . The rear room was used as a wine - bottle and storage location by a local fellow and his brother . Along with a lot of cool old bottles , I ’ve inherited some other winemaking equipment , so I ’ll plausibly assay my hand at winemaking the next abundant grapeshot season .

Moving boxes

Moving these boxes—all 360 of them—down the cliff is going to be a real challenge.

There are windows go down the south side of the construction , so even without lights , the spot is pretty bright . Well , at least it ’s brilliant now , since I ’ve taken down all the ancient drapes that covered the windows . The ceilings are really eminent in two of the rooms , almost 10 foot grandiloquent . I wish the absolute frequency of tall ceilings here in Italy .   The ceilings in our home are also more than 9 feet gamy .

I did have to cut out some Fe beam that supported a sort of second story built into the elbow room I ’m fit to utilise as the situation , but the upper floor was made with some ancient tongue and groove boards . I ’m going to use those to make a nice Ellen Price Wood floor for the function way . I ’ve also inherit a truckload of mixed ceramic tiles , because the old tenant was a builder back in the 60s . Some of the tile are wonderfully hazardous , and I ’m planning to tile the shop room with an abstract pattern before I build the bench .

There ’s a little creek that go justly alongside the building , the right way underneath the windows . I like the loud gurgling that one can hear in all the room . I ’ve already leave out a few tools into the creek while sterilize up the window , but I did manage to put a hook on the end of a long tube and get hold of down into the creek to call back them .

My end is to terminate at least the one way I ’ll expend for my desk and computers by the end of the month , at which point in time I ’ll polish up my friend with the crowing truck and make the move . There are about 200 footprint down to the street in the current localisation , so lugging the 360 box down to the street grade will be a labor .

I adore make ledge and clobber for my shop . The opportunity to create a brand new workshop is intoxicate .   I ’ve got a whole lot of baseball bat all quick to go and a rescue of some new plywood schedule for next week .   It ’ll be a fun winter .
