Over the last hebdomad we have been digging our new Grocery Row Gardens and installing tree .
Our friend James brought over his tractor and tilled . It ’s been dry ever since ( about three weeks without pelting ! ) and the grass has mostly died out , so we ’re frame in our bed .
There are seven layer that are about 80′ each . The lack of rainfall is arduous on the Tree and plants we are graft and there ’s still no precipitation in sight , despite the hurricane strike Florida to the southeast . ( Good luck , Tampa ! )
I ’m probably just go to have to get a longer hose and drag it around to keep thing alert . The weather has gotten cool and it feel great outside , so it ’s a wonderful time to be in the garden .
This morning I started a new gal clutch of sauerkraut , try out some kefir cheese , started a 2 - cubic decimetre bottle of Margaret Mead , and got some canvas from the thrift storage I can cut up and use for straining out curd . I ’ve also got some wheat Chuck Berry sprouting on the rejoinder , which will soon be dehydrated and reverse into wheat beer .
I really should be working on my current playscript task , but just ca n’t lend myself to get torealwork .
On other news , our goat Ada Claire died this break of day . She ’s been ill for the last few weeks since we got her home from a friend ’s farm . fallible and lethargic . I adjudicate everything I could , from de - worming to give her kelp repast , pine needle and molasses water , but no luck . She was a very upright goat and I was sad to see her crumpled up on the grass this morning .
So … off to the Grocery Row Garden with her .
We ’ll drop you , but at least you ’ll help us develop some trees and vegetable .

In yet other news , Carya illinoinsis are falling from the trees . They are small , seedling pecans , with good spirit . The trees are immense and old ! Probably 150 years and still produce .
Yesterday we also aim a few gallons of chestnut offthe awesome tree down the road . That ’s a blessing . I ’ll be planting them all over the one thousand soon .
desire you all are well . I should probably discover something to do that actually clear money . Perhaps I ’ll end up my picture on the Grocery Row Garden installation . That would be better than calculate up fermentation recipes and listening to lounge music …
