Favorite shrubs in fall

My name is Nick Bresso . I live in Bloomfield Hills , Michigan , which is just north of Detroit . My garden is in Zone 6a . We moved to our habitation four years ago and started with a clean slating for the garden .

Fothergillagardenii(Zones 5–8 ) put on a magnificent show of downfall foliage , surrounded by liriope(Liriopespicata , Zones 4–10 ) . This is my preferent sight from the sleeping room windowpane .

Low Scape Mound aronia(Aroniamelanocarpa , Zones 3–9 ) , gilt yew(Taxus , Zones 4–7 ) , and ‘ Emerald Gaiety ’ euonymus(Euonymusfortunei‘Emerald Gaiety ’ , Zones 5–8 ) have all done well in teetotal dirt under a Brobdingnagian pine .

Hosta‘June ’ ( Zones 2–9 ) and ‘ Summer Gold ’ variegateddogwood(Cornus kousa‘Summer Gold ’ , Zones 4–8 ) swap people of colour in the free fall . During the summertime , the dogwood tree has green leaves edged with yellow , and the hosta has light-green leaves with golden heart and soul . As you’re able to see , in the descent the dogwood twist red and ashen , and the hosta turns Au and white .

I love Nipponese maple , but this ‘ Autumn Moon ’ diverseness of full - moonshine maple(Acershirasawanum‘Autumn Moon ’ , Zones 5–8 ) has my favoritefall color .

Yews(Taxusspp . ) , boxwoods(Buxusspp . ) , and arborvitae(Thujaspp . ) are the essence of my garden , with a ‘ Bihou’Japanese maple(Acer palmatum‘Bihou ’ , Zones 5–9 ) add some color .
