Today ’s photos are from Syd Carpenter in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania . Syd says,“I am an artist who watch pull in this garden just as satisfying as making my sculptures . My garden is densely embed with perennial , shrubs , and bulbs in full sun and dappled nicety . I concentre on leaf texture , shape , and color rather than bloom . But there is always something in flush to append an extra germ of coruscation .
“ It ’s not the rarity of a plant life that attracts me , although I am always trying out raw flora . Rather it ’s about how the plants unite and congratulate each other . It can be an subtle but thrilling outcome when thing ultimately do together in a garden . Its as satisfying as when one of my sculptures signals it ’s end . But unlike a sculpture , the garden is never polish off . ”
Beautiful , Syd . Your artist ’s middle has served you well in your garden , and your scuptures ( check them outHERE ) are absorbing ! I pass altogether too much sentence studying them . Thanks so much for sharing both forms of your artwork .
