SixOnSaturday
The final Six for 2018 ! I intend I am right in order that I have not missed a workweek this twelvemonth so that ’s 312 vignettes ( mostly ) from my garden for your delight and delight . It does get trickier as the year occur to a closing to find six things to partake in . Tricky , but not impossible , no excuses ! Time for the last Six of this class then – Six things , in the garden , on a Saturday . Could be anything – a tool , a completed project , a blossom ( in force chance with that ! ) , wildlife , anything at all . Join in !
Here are my Six .

1 – New Okatsune secateurs . I was capable to drop a suitably threatening and quite specific hint to Mrs P that I might be very pleased to receive these for Christmas . They have a heft to them that none of my many former secateurs had . Having used them today , I can cover that they make a very satisfying thwok sound when used to prune a prow of , say , wisteria .
2 – Wisteria , 2nd prune . To get the best from a wistaria they call for to be pruned twice , one around mid - summertime , to 5 buds , and once around now to 2 buds . This should ensure a good floral display next bounce . Mine has fetch very unruly since the summer prune and it took quite a visual perception - to to pass some semblance of order of magnitude .
3 – Sheddecoupage . Picking up where we left off last Christmas , my youngest daughter and I spent some clock time yesterday beautifying my shed . The seed shorts and the workbench got this treatment last twelvemonth and now the upcountry walls are take their turn . I have been saving all the spare seeded player and works catalogues that appear during the class , they were sacrifice to this noble case . I have enough depart to do maybe two more panels of the shed like this one . Very straightforward to do , if a little time consuming – a sodding holiday activity .

Before
4 – Iris versicolour , emerging . I grew these from seed this twelvemonth . Until quite late this year ’s growth was still green but as you may see it has faded by , but next year ’s growth is already on its way . I wonder if they will flower next summertime ?
5 – Clematis MT , raw . I was sure that this clematis should be evergreen , but either this one has bucked the trend , or I am false . It is sure doing a good impression of being deciduous , not a leaf is go out . On the positive side , it is now easier to see what is tangled with what , so I have some Bob Hope of restoring some social club to the breeding this winter before they leaf up again . I think I need a twosome more runs of telegram supports above the existing ones .
6 – Waiting Room 3 . I have three dusty frames which are presently all pressed into service of process as storage for flora of various sort – some grown this year , some from newspaper clipping this year and some bought in a ruth - work bench frenzy . Waiting Room 3 moderate Rudbeckia‘goldsturm’(originally 2 , disunite on leverage into 3 plants each ) , campanula persicifolia ( in the beginning 1 , separate on purchase into 4 ) and helenium ‘ short n sassy ‘ ( originally 3 , divided on purchase into 8) . All should make excellent garden plants , so long as I can rule room for them . A problem for the spring .
