SixOnSaturday

As I ride here on Friday writing this , it has been raining to a great extent all twenty-four hours . No doubt in effect for the garden , but not good for sustain photos take . I retreated to the dry of the glasshouse so have restricted myself to Six thing , in the Greenhouse , on a Saturday ! The garden has been respond well to the recent fair weather and will I ’m surely give up on again in response to the good soak it has had .

Here are my Six for this week …

1 – Ammi majus . I should have embed these out ages ago , but here they are , in the greenhouse . I was a spot put off by Monty Don saying it was too former for them , but what does he know ? I ’ll get them in the ground next weekend . mayhap .

2 – Ricinus communis ‘ Red Giant ’ . I require to wait till these are quite substantial plant before putting them out in the garden . They are about 45 cm at the moment , and could probably do with being pot on once more . They will add serious height and a bit of tropic pizazz to the borders .

3 – Wallflower seedlings . As Meatloaf sang , two out of three artificial insemination n’t bad . With next yr in mind I sowed wallflower a couple of calendar week back , three varieties . As you could see , two of the three are go well ( ‘ My fair lady ’ and ‘ Fire Riley B King ’ , of the third , ‘ Ruby Gem ’ , there is no mansion . Nuffink .

4 – glasshouse toms . I have 8 plant life stuffed in here . Six are in 20L tubful , two in small 9L buckets . All seem to be doing well , they are all a good 5′ marvelous , and will grow on to attain the acme of the greenhouse . I have them acquire up canes initially , then up strand . I seem to have plenty of flowers and with daily trembling of the plants , hopefully I can promote sufficient pollination to get a good crop . The first to fruit are ‘ Maskotka ’ , evidence here , although I do also have a few ‘ Traveller ’ or ‘ Pilgrim ’ tomatoes but still very small ( merci Fred ) .

5 – Chilli flower . The chilli plants have been a mixed bag this year , I do n’t know why . Some plants have limped along , looking very washed out . They are all in the same compost , all have been watered at the same sentence , and there is no obvious link to variety show . Most odd . I have enough works anyway , more than enough . For want of somewhere more roomy to put them , they are crammed into one end of the het judiciary .

6 – dawn glory , ‘ grandpa ott ’ . This is another plant that should be in the garden . It is bloom here in a dire endeavor to assure succeeding propagation before it dies of thirst . Bad gardener .
