Watering lachrymation and more watering . I would really not object greatly to some persistent rain . There , I said it . Six on Saturday then . Six thing , in the garden , on a Saturday . Could be anything – a flower , a job to do , a success , a failure , a dispatch project , a pet creature , a grass , anything at all . Join in !

Here are my Six for this week …

1 – Rambling arise . A refugee from next doors somewhat unkempt garden . Who can pick it for want to link up the party in my garden ? The rose is a piece of a hurting , send out as it does foresightful shoot throughout the give and summer , quick to catch out the unwary . I lop it back sporadically . All this gimcrack is forgiven when it flower profusely for a few weeks at this time of year . I just like it would n’t bring the bindweed with it . ..

2 – genus Hypericum ×hidcoteense‘Hidcote ’ . Or at least that ’s what I think it is . This is a large shrub in my front garden , a good 6 or 7 foot in high spirits and fairly spherical in chassis . I do n’t do much with it commonly , but this year I did give it a tickle with the shear , just taking perhaps 6 column inch off all round to tidy up and shape . I ’m not certain if that was the causal agency , or if the conditions have just suit it , but there are now bajillions of flowers on it , with many many more to come .

3 – Supports . And deficiency of supports . We have had pretty steady weather the last few week , but in the last twenty-four hour period or two there have been some gamy - ish steer , the fanny death of a summertime tempest that sail through up north at the end of the calendar week . It is very obtrusive that the perennials that I shored up with myhome - made flora supportsare still standing tall , some very tall indeed , whereas those I did not have been flatten to varying degrees . I shall definitely make more of these support next year , intelligibly they do the line of work think .

4 – Bluntness . I was getting annoyed with my lawn lawn mower last weekend as it seemed to have ‘ broken ’ – it was just pushing the skunk over rather than cutting it . After cursing it loudly a few time , I concluded that perhaps it was only in need of a sharpen up . I did n’t pay a lot for the lawn mower in the first spot so was leary of vanquish out for a full service . Instead I bought a focalise kit that I can allegedly employ to reach a prissy crisp boundary . A job for this weekend .

5 – Geranium ‘ nimbus ’ . Bought at a plant fair recently , still languish in a heap . I have in creative thinker a planter along the side back street , but have n’t yet build the planter . The foliage is described as ‘ deep separate ’ . If that ’s not a metaphor for the times , I do n’t know what is .

6 – Clematis ‘ not - certain - whatii ’ . I have a clustering of clematis that are n’t quite flowering yet , along with several roses . This one is out , clearly , and it ’s quite drear in smell . The recording label is long disintegrated , so I am not sure of the sobriquet .
