It ’s hard to believe , but we have just 117 day to go before heading out to see the country for an entire year move in our teardrop motor home !
And as the prescribed launching engagement of September 9th take out close , we have really set off to ramp up the provision campaign for our trip.(See : The last 365 Day , State By State Travel Schedule )
Including a few overnight test runs in the camper over the last couple of weeks .
And we have to say , in that brusque sentence , we have diminish in love with life in our littleNucamp Tab 400 camping bus .
Traveling In The Teardrop Camper
I think we can both accept that we were a chip nervous pulling out of our driveway for our very first nightlong trial run trip in the camping bus .
From checking and re - check the hooking - ups to the motortruck , to checking and re - checking supplies – we plausibly go a bite overboard before finally putting the motortruck in private road and head down the route .
First off , we have no problem admitting we are not see campers . For us , however , that is one of the things we eff most about this integral misstep .
The power to branch out our horizons . The chance to check new things and Modern skill . And the prospect to relate and receive so many marvellous the great unwashed .
All while taking in the incredible sights of this beautiful land for an integral year on the road .
What could be better than that ! ?
At the end of the day , the only way to become well at something is to do it .
And if you are take fun while you are learning the Mexican valium , and you learn to express joy at yourself , each other , and your misapprehension – it usually all works out for the practiced .
That is how we approached building our little farm 9 year ago , and it has been turned out to be an amazing journeying for us .
Heading Out On The Road For A Few Test Runs
So far , we have had the motor home out for 3 overnight trial runs . And we have enjoyed every minute of it !
We really wanted to test out every part of the camping bus and the encampment experience to prepare us for what we might face up on the road .
That include using only the solar powerfulness option only for distant overnight stay , to hook up at bivouacking sights with full galvanising , water and toilet .
And we can now say we have experience at both !
We spent our first two nights “ boondocking ” at a dyad of vineyards using the Harvest Host syllabus . ( See : Low Cost Camping – How To Camp In Style On A Tiny Budget )

Both wineries we stay at , Ravens GlenandValley Vineyards , were incredible in their cordial reception . And who can ticktock the sentiment from a wine maker for an overnight stoppage !
We enjoy a dinner at each of the locations , and then waken up to make breakfast in the camper , worked for a few hours authorship , and the hit the route .
It really does n’t get much dependable than that for mould on the route from a beautiful position setting !
We spend our third night bivouacking at a state parking lot site using water supply , electric and the sewer swipe up option .
I call back we were both amazed at how sluttish it was to utilize with our Tab 400 Camper . It took us about 15 minutes to fix up our camping area , and then we enjoyed our first “ outdoor ” broiling experience over the campfire .
I think for us we have been sunnily surprised at just how much room is in the camper . The full - size of it queen bed is really comfortable – and the table and seats in front are work dandy for our “ office ” distance .
