Fall beauty in Canada
Today we ’re looking at some shots Cherry took while visiting Sylvia in earlyOctober .
All the leafage look good in this seam . TheRodgersia‘Chocolate Wings ’ ( Zones 5–7 ) and Nipponese umbrella pine ( Sciadopitysverticillata , Zones 5–8 ) in the first place were originate in pots in Cherry ’s garden but were moved here as they sustain bigger . They look great and are boom in their new homes .
A beautiful terra - cotta urn — also a loaner from Cherry ’s garden — makes a great accent to a carpet of various foliage .

you may see why the Nipponese umbrella pine tree had to move from a pot to this garden ! grow specialtrees and shrubsin sens for a few years and then proceed them into the ground can be a neat way to spotlight them when small and allow let them to reach their full potential when they outgrow their pots .
Fall leaf is n’t always about bright color , but there is still a lot of beauty if you blockade to look at it .
Cornussanguinea‘Compressa ’ ( zone 4–9 ) is a compact , unsloped - growing selection , with the most unbelievable thick - textured farewell .

I be intimate the interaction between thisAcaenainermis‘Purpurea’ground coverand the bright variegatedAcorusgarmineus(Zones 5–9 ) . They act upon perfectly together and provide no room for weeds to uprise .
The use of a set of shrubs andevergreen perennialsas well asannualsensures this planting just keeps looking good .
A blood-red - red-hot salamander ( Kniphofia , Zones 6–9 ) is still putting out sunny scandalmongering peak spikes .

Here ’s another plantation owner that still looks enceinte . I make love the way the colour of the pot matches the racy foliage of the over-embellished grass .
This last picture was fill during the summer . Thecontainerwas my birthday gift to Sylvia , and I just wanted to show everyone what a marvellous job she did to nurture it . The petunia isPetunia‘Black Velvet ’ ( Zones 10–11 or as an yearly ) , and theTradescantiais ‘ Pistachio White ’ ( geographical zone 10–11 or as an annual ) . They ’re combined with saturnine sweet potato vine(Ipomoeabatatas , Zones 10–11 or as an annual ) , which looks unbelievable against silvery dusty miller(Jacobaea maritima , Zones 7–10 or as an annual ) and long trailing Ag dichondra(Dichondraargentea , zone 8–10 or as an annual ) .
